Capstone Spring 2012 Blog1 "Reuse Renew Renew"

For this capstone project I'll be reworking my final project that I did for my Graphic Novel class last semester.  I really enjoyed the story and was able to cover all the plot points that I wanted to cover.  It was a complete tale, unlike the comic I had planned for my last capstone.  At that point I had used the program ComicLife on several projects and had become disillusioned with it at the end.  I had found some limitations and was hitting them constantly with no way to get around them.  I knew those limitations would hinder that project so I decided to go old school and hand drawn everything.

The word balloons and outlines I'm going to keep.  I didn't use a straight edge on anything, figuring that my shaky lines would contrast with the illustrations and add to the supernatural horror.  Straightening the borders now would take too much time and redrawing, instead I think I'll frack them up some more.  Maybe adding a dark glow or loose lines where applicable.

I also want to do something with the background, just to make it look different from the newsprint that I drew on.

For the ghosts I might brighten or add a glow to some of them.

The text would be the biggest change for the comic.  I definitely have to redo all of the text.  I want to try to use nonbasic text.  No Chiller font, ever.

The last thing I'd need to work on is making all the pages the same shade of grey.  I should probably work on that first before I start setting backgrounds or fonts.
